CELEBRATE THE NEW YEAR ONE DAY EARLY AT THE GREAT LAKES SCIENCE CENTER
It may still be too early to have plans set for New Year’s Eve, but what about plans for New Year’s Eve Eve? While it may not be one of the most popular of “holidays,” that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be one of the most exciting.
The Great Lakes Science Center will be hosting the fourth annual New Year’s Eve Eve, a late-night family event, on December 30 from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. With families having access to more than 400 exhibits in the science center and being able to witness festive demonstrations by science center staff, they will have endless recipes for safe, family fun during their late-night visit.
The event features a unique carpet skating rink, and visitors will have the chance to make their very own fake polymer snow to take home with them. The OMNIMAX® Theater will be showing Santa vs. the Snowman, plus a bonus feature, Alaska: Spirit of the Wild for more late-night entertainment. Families will be able to explore the entire Great Lakes Science Center and enjoy hot chocolate and warm, late-night snacks.
Guests can top the night off by ringing in 2009 with a countdown, a ginger ale toast, and a four-story balloon drop complete with 1,500 balloons falling from a height of 150 feet.
