Dominick Farinacci’s “It’s Alright With Me” from Live at The Kennedy Center

By now the story of trumpet phenom Dominick Farinacci is well known. The young man continues to impress. Dominick graduated from New York’s famed Julliard School of Music in 2005, and has already made his impact as a professional musician. Carrer highlights include six releases on Japan’s M & I label, appearances at numerous Jazz Festivals including Harrisburg, Detroit, Tri-C, Berks, and many more, an appearance at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC that was also broadcast nationwinde on NPR, and several tours of Japan. Dominick has shared the stage with several major names in jazz including Mulgrew Miller, Ray Brown, Joe Lovano, and Wynton Marsalis. Currently living in New York City, Dominick Farinacci is active leading his own group and touring on a consistent basis.

Dominick Farinacci has recently signed with The Jazz Tree, a very high profile management company in New York City. Past Jazz Tree clients have included Tony Williams, Diana Krall, Joshua Redman, and Benny Green. Dominick won First Place in The Carmine Caruso International Trumpet Competition in 2003. Dominick was also awarded a gold disc award from Japan’s Swing Journal and has also been designated their musician of the year. Dominick Farinacci’s debut U.S. and international CD will be released in February 24th on Koch Records. Watch for this!!

Joining Dominick Farinacci will be Peter Dominguez on acoustic bass, Joe Hunter on piano and Paul Samuels on drums.

New Years Eve Eve for Kids in Cleveland

It may still be too early to have plans set for New Year’s Eve, but what about plans for New Year’s Eve Eve? While it may not be one of the most popular of “holidays,” that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be one of the most exciting.

The Great Lakes Science Center will be hosting the fourth annual New Year’s Eve Eve, a late-night family event, on December 30 from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. With families having access to more than 400 exhibits in the science center and being able to witness festive demonstrations by science center staff, they will have endless recipes for safe, family fun during their late-night visit.

The event features a unique carpet skating rink, and visitors will have the chance to make their very own fake polymer snow to take home with them. The OMNIMAX® Theater will be showing Santa vs. the Snowman, plus a bonus feature, Alaska: Spirit of the Wild for more late-night entertainment. Families will be able to explore the entire Great Lakes Science Center and enjoy hot chocolate and warm, late-night snacks.

Guests can top the night off by ringing in 2009 with a countdown, a ginger ale toast, and a four-story balloon drop complete with 1,500 balloons falling from a height of 150 feet.
