LEGO Classes in Cleveland

Ok, so my 4 1/2 year old is a bit young to be taking Lego classes, although he’d probably jump at the chance if he could.    But, I know that someday we’ll need to sign him up for one, and I keep coming across them in various places, so thought I’d create a list for anyone who’s children love Lego’s as much as mine (and the hubby and I) do.

Spring Break Camps at Great Lakes Science Center

Great Lakes Science Center’s Spring Break Camp 2011:

Build mini speed boats, discover the wicked weather phenomena of tornadoes, create miniature gardens and fossils to take home, and more! While schools are on Spring Break, Great Lakes Science Center educates and entertains with day-long Science Break Camps for kids in grades K-8. Hands-on fun and learning never stops with topics like Twister!, Abracadabra: Science of Magic, Mars Space Bots, FAB LAB Challenge: All Aboard, and many more!

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History offers the following camps for kids over spring break this year:

Spring Break Camp – Register Now!
Session I
: Mon, Mar 28; Tues, Mar 29; Wed, Mar 30; 9 am to 3:30 pm
Session II: Mon, Apr 18; Tues, Apr 19; Wed, Apr 20; 9 am to 3:30 pm
Check-in for both sessions begins at 8:30 am, aftercare available until 5 pm

Spring Break Camp returns again this year with all-new fun programs designed to engage and inform. Each day offers a different themed program featuring hands-on activities and a make-and-take craft, plus a special Planetarium program. Morning and afternoon snacks provided but please pack a lunch. Sign up for one, two, or all three days in either one of two sessions.

Rocks, Minerals, and Gems

What forces deep within the Earth form rocks? What makes a rock a gem? What is your birthstone? Rocks will rock and gems will jam in this class!

Color Your Spring

Ahh…the colors of spring. What makes color? What color were dinosaurs? What determines your eye, hair, and skin color? Please bring a cotton t-shirt to decorate.
