is an amazing and entertaining combination of top acts of the internationally renowned cirque artists who will perform dazzling feats and breathtaking acrobatics, accompanied by the acclaimed Cleveland POPS and popular vocalist Susan Hesse. It is a fun and fantasy-filled holiday concert complete with your favorite Yuletide music. This is entertainment the whole family will enjoy, from music of the Christmas season and of Hanukkah to popular seasonal tunes from the great American songbook. Santa Claus will make his annual visit to PlayhouseSquare and children will enjoy playing with lovable puppies and kittens brought in from local rescue shelters.

Cirque de la Symphonie is a new production formed to bring the magic of cirque to the concert hall. It is an exciting showcase of many of the best cirque artists in the world, You will be delighted with aerial flyers, acrobats, jugglers and balancers, while listening to the music of the holidays performed by the magnificent Cleveland POPS Orchestra.

The Cleveland POPS Orchestra under the baton of Carl Topilow will play an extraordinary concert of holiday favorites, from classics like “The Seasons” by Vivaldi and selections from Handel’s “Messiah” to the theme from the movie “Polar Express,” Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride” and themes from “The Nutcracker Suite.”
Vocalist Susan Hesse will lend her sultry sounds to “The Christmas Song,” “Cool Yule,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and more. Conductor/clarinetist Carl Topilow will debut his new creation “A Clarinet Hanukah.” The audience will participate in a “Christmas Pops Sing Along” and Santa Claus will arrive for his yearly visit to Playhouse Square.

In the Palace Theatre lobby, patrons will enjoy more musical events and families can play with adorable, adoptable puppies and kittens from local rescue shelters.

Meet our guest cirque artists
Alexander Streltsov
Also known as “Sasha,” Mr. Streltsov started working with future Cirque de Soleil choreographer Pavel Brun and famed producer Valentin Gneushev when he was just twelve, performing on Broadway at the Gershwin Theater. That same year, he won the gold metal at the prestigious Frestival Mondial Du Cirque De L’Avenir in Paris. His combination of natural strength, artistic expression and grace sets his performance apart. He has performed for three Russian presidents and the Bolshoi Ballet, numerous symphonies in the US and Europe and theater and stage productions worldwide, as well as nationally televised appearances in the US.

Christine Van Loo
A 7-time consecutive National Champion, Female Athlete of the Year, and Athlete of the Decade in aerobatic gymnastics, she was inducted into the USSA (acrobatics) Hall of Fame. As a professional aerialist and acrobat, she performed in the 2002 Winter Olympics. She has performed at many international pageants, including the Miss Universe Pageant, and has toured with Ricky Martin, Paul McCartney and Britney Spears. Christine provides spell-binding performances of static silks, aerial hoop, duo trapeeze and duo silks with Cirque de la Symphonie.

Sergey Ignatov
Sergey blends many different combinations of juggling feats with rings, balls, batons and spinning propellers. He won the Gold Metal at the “Circus of the Future” competitions in Paris, France and is a two-time World Juggling Champion. He has performed with many tours around the world and was a featured performer with Circus Tihni, the musical “Shock,” New Wave Circus, Cirque du Jour and various Disney shows. He is a defining presence on the stage for Cirque de la Symphonie.

Alexander Fedortchev
Alexander trained in acrobatics and gymnastics schools in Mascow from the age of seven. He graduated from the world-renowned Russian Circus College and achieved the honor of gymnastic champion. Alexander is an accomplished stunt performer ans well as being in high demand as a fashion model. His credits include many television shows and events like Stars on Ice and the Women’s Soccer World Cup Presentation. Alexander provides a spectacular rope act with Cirque de la Symponie, as well as performances on aerial silks.
