Clambakes are Popular in Cleveland?

According to this website, besides being popular in the Pacific Northwest and New England, clambakes are popular in Cleveland, Ohio.  Now of course, living in Cleveland, I know that clambakes are a popular fall activity here.  I just never realized that this wasn’t the case everywhere else?

As for events, here are some I was able to dig up:

The Lake House Inn – Just missed it last weekend.

Chalet Debonne Vineyards – Just missed this one too!

Clambake at Vue Restaurant – One down in Hudson at Vue Restaurant this Friday night, September 26, 2008

Or you can pick up your own clambakes at the following locations:

Miles Farmer’s Market in Solon- Oct. 4th only

Spice of Life Catering – Apparently do clambakes-for-hire

Tom’s Country Place in Avon – can purchase the clambake goods, or they do clambakes-for-hire

Brennan’s Catering on Triskett in Cleveland – can purchase the clambake goods, or they do clambakes-for-hire

Lobster Brother’s Seafood in Westlake – Clambake info, Instructions, How To Video, and supplies

Quality Halls Meat Market in Olmsted Falls – Buy clambake supplies and steamer rentals

Euclid Fish in Mentor – provides all supplies down to the steamer/pot and plates/utensils

Farmhouse Foods at Woodland and Southgate – Provides supplies, plus six steps to a great clambake

Am I missing any?   Where are the best places to host a clambake in Cleveland?

Until next time,
