I currently have two jobs, one as the mom of a toddler who was born in the summer of 2006, and one as the manager of a local website.
Revised 1/22/09, the first day of my new adventures in motherhood.
I currently have one job, by my own choice, as the SAHM of a toddler who was born in the summer of 2006, though I may periodically do some random projects on the side. My husband, our son and I live in a brick house that looks a bit like a gingerbread house in the city of Cleveland on the west side in a neighborhood called West Park. We love our neighbors and our neighborhood, and finding new restaurants and things to do with our son who is very active and loves getting out of the house. I can be opinionated and when I have a particularly good or bad experience I believe strongly in word of mouth, so I decided to start this blog about our experiences with our son and our city. Maybe someone looking for advice on raising a family in Cleveland will stumble upon this and it will help them out. Who knows.

Just found your blog thru Googling Cleveland Mommy Bloggers. I am also a Cleveland area Mom. Will be back again soon!
Hi! I found your site after you posted on mine
I have gotten so bad about posting on my own site so you’ve inspired me (with your diligent posting) to keep up on my own. Thanks for adding my link to your site – I’ll be sure to return the favor.
I love you site – it’s so nice to have another source for things to do in Cleveland. Thanks!
Hi: Great web site. My wife and I are the publishers of Family Fun Directory. We have a printed directory, a web site and a weekly enewsletter. Please check out our web site. We’d love to be added to your links under Cleveland Moms. Thanks and great job!

Thanks so much for leaving a comment on my new blog!! I hadn’t even told anyone about it (except Katie from the pic), so it was a surprise to see that someone had even visited it. Was it something to do with the fact that I’d linked to your blog from it?
I picked up your blog from a set of links one day a few weeks ago on Brewed Fresh Daily, and I loved so much a post you’d put up on reasons to love Cleveland.
I’m looking forward so much to getting back to Ohio – trying to work the job market now to make sure I have employment when I get there – but hopefully in town by the end of the year.
I’m really impressed by your blog. I sincerely hope that I can have something that presents so well one day. At the moment, I’m simply trying to maintain the discipline of posting regularly. After that I’ll work on how it looks.
Thanks again. I’ll keep up with what you’re writing about, and look forward to meeting you in C-Town one day.
Tim
Hi Cleveland Mom,
Love your site. I wanted to say hello and introduce myself I am the Cleveland MomsLikeMe.com Site Manager. Momslikeme.com was formally known as Northcoast Moms and has recently re-launched to a MomsLikeMe.com site.
In conjunction with WKYC TV3 and dedicated area moms, we are developing MomsLikeMe.com into a destination where moms can discuss being a mom, seek advice and support, or find a few minutes to escape the stresses of being a mom.
Being in the role of supporting the conversations of moms has and is a personal passion for me. I have spent the past 12 years creating, producing and hosting Family Matters Radio, a nationally syndicated talk radio program and web site. Family Matters Radio is the only nationally syndicated, award-winning talk program for women and moms co-hosted by women and is still on the air in Cleveland and thirteen affiliate stations across the country.
At TV3 and Momslikeme.com, We want to help lift the voices of Cleveland mom bloggers to support their efforts and help promote their blogs to the Greater Cleveland community.
Beyond being an important member and contributor to the Cleveland Momslikeme.com site, we are planning special on-air activities with the Cleveland Mom bloggers group here at TV3 – similar to our “meet the bloggers” activities TV3 does during the election.
So, if you are interested we’d love to have you on board! You can email me at jchakirelis@wkyc.gannett.com or register at the Clevelandmomslikeme.com and join this special group that has been set up for Cleveland bloggers:

I’d be happy to answers questions you may have. Looking forward to seeing you on the site!

Hello,
I’m Mike from Center’d. As your readers begin planning for the holidays, I thought I’d reach out and share a resource that they might find useful. Center’d has teamed up with Real Simple to create a Thanksgiving planning center with tips, recipes and ready-made plans to help make this turkey day a success.
You can view the site here: http://www.centerd.com//plans/static/2008/thanksgiving/main/
You would find more pages on thanksgiving like Potluck Dinner, Recipes and 40 Ways to Simplify Thanksgiving.
We’d love to hear what you think about Center’d and a mention in your blog would be appreciated if you feel our site would bring value to your readers.
Thanks and Regards
Mike

Hi Cleveland Mom,
I found a great children’s resale shop that I wanted to share with your followers! Silly Sprouts Consignment Shoppe in North Ridgeville has baby and kids clothes up to size 16, as well as toys, baby accessories and maternity wear. This is the nicest, most friendly resale shop that I’ve ever been to and definitely worth a visit! The owner is a mother of 4 who genuinely loves to help families save money while getting great items for kids!
Silly Spouts is celebrating its 1 year anniversary with a Sale-A-Bration on Saturday, December 6th from noon until 4pm. Special sales, as well as great events for the kids such as face painting, balloon animals, character visits with some special friends, a bubble machine and more! The web site is http://www.freebwebs.com/sillysprouts or you can call the shop at 440-327-1086 for more information.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Jen

Hi Lori,

And glad to see how well things are going for you!

Hi Lorelei,
found your blog through a mutual friend on LinkedIn. I think it’s great and if it ’s OK with you, I will pass it along to my customers — who are mostly stay-at-home-moms, interested in parenting and raising healthy kids.

Hi there,
I represent Vlasic Pickles, and as you may know our “Crunch” Campaign is all about the kids! We are hosting a cute event at the National Hamburger Festival where the Vlasic Stork will give away prizes to the kids with the LOUDEST CRUNCH!!! I was hoping to send you more info and see how to go about posting the event on your site. Please get back to me at your earliest!
Hi Cleveland Mom!
I came across your blog while looking for family events in the Cleveland area. Your blog appears to be a great outlet for local moms to network and know what’s going on in their city. I would like to give you information about a free event that will be in Cleveland next week. Please let me know how I can send information to you.
Thanks!
Hi Cleveland Mom!
I came across your blog while searching for info on Wildwater Kingdom. We’ll be up your way for a wedding later this summer, and thought we might do the water park one day…I’ve got a 2 year old, and a 1 year old nephew- does WK have an area appropriate for little tykes? (We’d be at Cedar Point if I wasn’t prego!) Thanks for any opinion you can provide- enjoy your summer!
Jen in NC
Hello Jen,
I guess it depends on if you are going there solely to entertain the toddlers. If so, I’d recommend finding a recreation center nearby to where you’ll be staying and going that route as several (Rocky River, Bay Village and Solon off the top of my head) have fun gadgets and little pools for the tykes. But, if you are going for yourself, husband and others who are older, there are places in the park where the little ones can hang out with adult supervision/assistance like coral cove (http://www.wildwaterfun.com/public/attractions/coral_cove.cfm) and splash landing (http://www.wildwaterfun.com/public/attractions/splash_landing.cfm). I haven’t been there yet but was thinking of taking my almost three year-old this summer as he’s now over 36 inches and might be able to enjoy it a bit more. We took him to Great Wolf Lodge in the winter and they had something similar to Spalsh Landing there. At the time he was about 30 months old and really enjoyed it.
Hello again Jen from NC,
Out of curiosity, I looked at Cedar Point’s website, and it looks like Soak City (the waterpark area of Cedar Point) has more to offer in terms of toddler activities (toddler river, tadpole town and choo choo lagoon). Plus, I have been through the Camp Snoopy area and there are two other areas of the park with rides for smaller kids: http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/kids/areas.cfm I’m actually thinking of taking my toddler there instead now that I see how much there is to do. And I love Cedar Point, there’s so much to do for the grown-ups too.
Either way, I hope you enjoy your time here in the area!
Lorelei

Hi Cleveland Mom!
I came across your blog when looking for moms in Cleveland who would be interested in participating in a program Mom Central is doing with Feld Entertainment. (Feld produces the Ringling Bros. and Disney On Ice Shows)
Basically, we ask moms to help us spread the word about the shows and a coupon code we created, and in exchange hold a meet and greet event on opening night of the circus (which is 10/21/09) and also provide complimentary tickets. I really like your blog, and it seems like you are always looking for fun things to do with your son–so I hope this program would be a good fit! I hope to hear from you soon!
Best,
Lauren
